| CHILD CARE RESOURCE AND REFERRAL
Through funds made available from the California Department of Education, CCC is able to offer free child care referrals, community resources, parent and provider training, and a lending library. Referrals to child care providers are given to any parent who lives in Mono County. The referrals are based on the parent's request: location, type of care, hours needed, ages of the children, special needs, etc and assists parents to find quality child care near their home, work, or child's school. The parent is also given a brochure on Choosing Quality Child Care and a checklist on what to look for and questions to ask.
IMACA’s Resource and Referral program offers ongoing trainings and orientations that include: child care facility and family day care home licensing orientation, parent education seminars and workshops on a wide variety of child development topics. CCC assists agencies and individuals with a variety of resources for young children and their families.
IMACA makes its resources and technical assistance available to the community during our regular hours of operation and during scheduled training/workshops.
LENDING LIBRARY
CCC has a wide range of children’s toys and equipment, resource materials for parents and providers to borrow free of charge. An Ellison die cut machine is also available with many numbers, letters and shapes to choose from. The Lending Library is located in the IMACA CCC office.
WORKSHOPS funded through RR
CCC encourages parents and providers to attend workshops and trainings offered throughout the community concerning child and family issues. IMACA CCC provides developmentally appropriate topics for all ages and stages of a childhood. Interest as determined by bi-annual surveys determines the topics. CCC will notify parents and providers of workshops through mailings and media outreach throughout Mono County.
CEL CENTRALIZED ELIGIBLITY LIST
The CEL is a list of eligible parents who are waiting for subsidized child care services throughout Mono County. Parents must meet low-income requirements, based on income and family size, as established by the California Department of EducationChild Development Division. The CEL is an eligibility list not a waiting list. Services are based on need rather than time on the list. Each applicant will receive a rank number according to family size and monthly income. The wait varies and is not possible to give a timeline for when services may start. IMACA CCC selects families who are ranked highest when participating agency programs have child care slots available. Once selected from the CEL, parents have 24 hours to enroll in the program. If parents do not enroll in the allotted time the child will be placed back on the CEL and the next ranked child will be selected.
